Since opening our doors in March of 2014, we have continued to grow and achieve our mission of building community and supporting local artists, builders and makers. We provide the space, tools, and education for locals to build art projects and organize meetings and events. We are currently seeking a new location so we can continue to offer community space for large art builds and exciting new classes and workshops.
CoLab was founded in March of 2014 by San Diego Collaborative Arts Project (SDCAP), a non-profit offering opportunities for collaborative art and civic engagement projects. In addition to CoLab, SDCAP organizes a San Diego Regional Burning Man event called YOUtopia, and supports the Maker Faire, San Diego Burning Man Community Pride Parade float, Art Around Adams (Music & Art Walk), Figment San Diego (one day art festival) and more.
